A série “Desenhos por subtração” é uma pesquisa sobre desenho. Partindo do gesto incisivo e linear – o traço e corte sequencial - cria-se um módulo. A então retirada deste módulo constrói uma relação entre o cheio e o vazio, o 0 e o 1 e todas as possíveis variações que desenvolvem a trama. A proposta é um jogo de contradição que busca, para além de gerar uma imagem, provocar uma reflexão sobre o processo técnico manual de construção de um objeto gráfico pictórico. A fatura revela a conjunção dos fatores objetual, gestual e ferramental. O gesto é irregular e repetitivo - uma tentativa e, ao mesmo tempo, uma contestação da perfeição maquinal pela incapacidade humana de sustentar tal repetição. Uma ode à imperfeição pela insustentabilidade da virtuose.

The series “Drawings by subtraction” is a research on drawing. Starting from the incisive and linear gesture – the line and sequential cut – a module is created. The removal of this module then builds a relationship between full and empty, 0 and 1 and all the possible variations that develop the plot. The proposal is a game of contradiction that seeks, in addition to generating an image, to provoke a reflection on the manual technical process of building a pictorial graphic object. The invoice reveals the conjunction of objectual, gestural and tooling factors. The gesture is irregular and repetitive - an attempt and, at the same time, a challenge to mechanical perfection due to the human inability to sustain such repetition.
