"A performance é um projeto de 2017 que não tinha sido realizado até hoje. Esse trabalho consiste literalmente num salto onde ficará impressa a marca do corpo. A primeira impressão do corpo de Ana Mendieta em 1973, impressão do próprio corpo na superfície da terra, foi realizada no México. Sua contribuição para a história da Body art cria uma fusão com a Land art. No caso de Jarbas, o corpo se imprime pelo salto e pela própria gravidade sobre uma montanha de caixas de papelão. Um ato de desafio que reafirma o direito à vida e a força do ato artístico. O corpo como última muralha contra o mundo neoliberal que conhecemos hoje. Num mundo onde o
corpo desaparece - torna-se abstração - e onde um conjunto de regras de submissão operam abertamente, o ato artístico reivindica o ato de desobediência civil como singularidade poética. Ato que abole a gravidade em uma fração de segundos e cria uma
mutação ontológica no próprio ser humano. A vontade de transcender os limites clama por um outro mundo possível. Trata-se,
portanto, de reinscrever simbolicamente o desejo e a consciência no corpo: Lua/Luta."

"The performance presented at the exhibition is a project from 2017 that hadn’t yet been carried out. The work literally consists of a leap that will imprint the mark of the body. The first imprint of Ana Mendieta’s body was an imprint of her own body on the surface of the earth, made in Mexico in 1973. Her contribution to the history of Body Art was a fusion with Land Art. In the case of Jarbas, the body is imprinted by the leap and by gravity itself onto a mountain of cardboard boxes. It’s an act of defiance that reaffirms the right to life and the power of the artistic act. The body as the last wall against the neoliberal world we know today. In a world in which the body disappears – becomes an abstraction – and where a set of submission rules operate openly, the artistic act reclaims the act of civil disobedience as poetic singularity. An act that abolishes gravity in a matter of seconds and creates an ontological mutation in the human being itself. The will to transcend limits yearns for some other possible world. It is, therefore, a matter of symbolically reinscribing desire and consciousness in the body: Lua/Luta, Moon/Struggle."
