Forrobodó
A Gentil Carioca is pleased to present Forrobodó, a group exhibition that marks the 20th anniversary of the gallery and celebrates the political, poetic, aesthetic and erotic potential of the streets, curated by Ulisses Carrilho. The opening takes place this Saturday, September 9, from 7pm to 00am, at A Gentil Carioca in Rio de Janerio, with a big party to celebrate the anniversary.
From the crossroads that marks the presence of the gallery in Saara, in the center of Rio de Janeiro, more than seventy artists will be exhibited in the two buildings of the gallery, overflowing it with works throughout the popular commerce region of Rio de Janeiro, celebrating this important Gentil landmark, as well as a celebration of the street, coexistence, surroundings and neighborhoods. Departing from riots, exchanges, pleasures and cooperation, Forrobodó borrows the name of the custom operetta composed by Chiquinha Gonzaga, who also composed "Ô, Abre Alas", which names another important gallery program.
