A Gentil Carioca invites all to the first solo exhibition by Novíssimo Edgar, musician, composer, poet, visual artist and performer. The show A Invenção do Espelho takes place at our gallery in São Paulo, opening on May 27, from 2pm to 7pm.

“The show was conceived by Edgar as a journey, as linear as possible, through [...] countless references, episodes, stories and iconographies that feed it. They parade through the rooms of A Gentil Carioca: from episodes and characters from Greek mythology to Thai spirits, from Indian iconographies to the reinterpretation of the most famous Dutch painting of the seventeenth century, from ritual masks to Guernica by Picasso.” - Jacopo Crivelli Visconti
