TODO LO QUE NO DIGO DE MI and Self-portrait with hair clips are works that discuss the artist's self-image at different stages of life. How many years does it take for a black woman to live fully within her skin? How many more to free herself from what is assumed about her body? Already in childhood, becoming aware of one's own body happens in a violent way. The image that the other constructs resonates faster than the narrative itself, which is still vulnerable. Collage and painting dialogue about the process of digesting what one has lived and still lives. The said and the unsaid. No longer allowing oneself to be chained, but turning the narrative inside out to finally take the reins of one's own story.
