It’s quite common in Aleta Valente’s work the attention to sex. Well, if sons and daughters are born from sex, the same happens with her work. With humor, irony and acidity, the artist bring us an absolutely critical and punctual view of the tabus, beliefs and rules that place the woman in the brazilian society. Often to the expectator, it’s natural a certain discomfort, a dubious feeling, where she puts herself consciously as an object, opening wide this social place and all of its consequences. Aleta’s debauchery evidence her intelligence, her sublety, and her surgical critic. However, in “Love, Aleta”, we sense all of this and a bit more. In this image, it’s impossible to ignore the playful and innocent beauty of love.
