A partir de imagens que entrelaçam histórias do universo da política e de representações da cultura visual contemporânea, o trabalho de Cantuária parte de invenções pictóricas acerca das lutas travadas...A partir de imagens que entrelaçam histórias do universo da política e de representações da cultura visual contemporânea, o trabalho de Cantuária parte de invenções pictóricas acerca das lutas travadas por mulheres revolucionárias invisibilizadas ao redor do mundo. Integrando a série “Mátria Livre”, a obra “Deize Tigrona” homenageia uma das precursoras do funk no Brasil, de maior importância, porém não de maior reconhecimento a cantora carioca Deize é apresentada com um taco de baseball nas mãos, remetendo a um episódio onde sua luta e sua história de vida se cruzaram com um reconhecido dj, que a enganou e recebeu de voltla à força física da mulher que reivindica seus direitos.
Based on images that intercross stories from the universe of politics and representations of contemporary visual culture, Cantuária’s work starts from pictorial inventions about the struggles waged by invisibilized revolutionary women around the world. As part of the “Mátria Livre” series, the work “Deize Tigrona” pays tribute to one of the precursors of funk in Brazil, of greater importance, but not more recognized, the Rio de Janeiro based singer Deize is presented with a baseball bat in her hands, referring to an episode where her struggle and her life story intersected with a recognized dj, who deceived her and received back the physical strength of the woman who claims her rights.
