[Discos Voadores were developed from the work Balé Literal, a large moving installation presented for the first time at the crossroads in front of the gallery A Gentil Carioca (2019) and later at MACBA, in Barcelona. The suspended sculptures derive from one of the Balé's characters: an object built with two overlapping porcelain plates, evoking the figure of a flying saucer. The other Discos are sculptures (or sculpture-creatures, as the artist calls them) made of metal pieces and glass and ceramic containers, hung from the ceiling with metal springs. The artworks in this exhibition are conceived by the artist as sentient beings, extraterrestrial creatures endowed with their own qualities and characteristics that float around the exhibition space.]
