Ana Silva compõe seu universo visual através de um percurso íntimo, incluindo memórias de infância, ambiente de vivências e a presença das mulheres de seu país. Em seus eixos de pesquisa evoca a dificuldade de acesso à água potável em Angola, aborda aspectos da infância e as transmissões de conhecimento e cultura entre gerações femininas, tangenciando a artista, sua avó e sua filha. Silva possui uma abordagem artística que compreende diferentes materiais. Afirma que todos os materiais podem se transformar em arte: "não posso separar meu trabalho da minha experiência em Angola, em uma época em que o acesso aos materiais era difícil devido à guerra de independência e à guerra civil. Minha criatividade nasceu da exploração de meu ambiente imediato. Essa experiência teve um grande impacto em minha maneira de trabalho e em minha vida de modo geral".

Her research focuses on the difficulty of potable water access in Angola, aspects of childhood and the transmission of knowledge and culture between female generations, including the artist, her grandmother, and her daughter.
