Sallisa Rosa
Born in Goiás, he currently lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. She works with art as a path based on intuitive experiences linked to fiction, territory and nature. She focuses on images related to themes such as memory and oblivion and strategies for creating the future. In her trajectory, Sallisa explores different supports and the commitment to practices aimed at participatory constructions is central to her work, in the sense of unfolding works in conversations and knowledge sharing.
Sallisa Rosa was born in Goiás and currently lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. She works with art as a path based on intuitive experiences linked to fiction, ancestry, territory and nature. At the same time, she investigates the themes of memory and forgetting as strategies for creating the future. As well as working with the earth in its various forms - planting, clay, ceramics - Sallisa circulates between media such as photography/video, performance and illustration. The commitment to artistic activities aimed at collective constructions, in the sense of unfolding actions that culminate in sharing knowledge, is a central aspect of her practice. The artist is currently taking part in an artistic residency at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam.
In 2024, the solo show "Topography of Memory" opened at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo. The exhibition, made up of an immersive installation commissioned by Audemars Piguet Contemporary, was also presented at the end of 2023 at the Collins Park Rotunda in Miami, USA.
In the same year, she took part in the XXIII Bienal de Arte Paiz in Guatemala and, in parallel, in the group shows "Ana Mendieta: Silhueta em Fogo | terra abrecaminhos", at Sesc Pompeia in São Paulo, "O Cio da Terra", at Fundacíon Pablo Atchugarry in Miami and "Forrobodó", at A Gentil Carioca in Rio de Janeiro. In 2022, he took part in the group shows "Social Fabric: Art and Activism in Contemporary Brazil" in Austin, Texas, "Histórias Brasileiras" at MASP, São Paulo and "Summer Exhibition" at the Royal Academy, London. In 2021, she opened her first solo exhibition "América" at MAM in Rio de Janeiro.
