Agrade Camíz in her (De)Formation research explores the circles in our social rituals, generational cycles, states and bodies. In the abstraction of “Olho Nu”, the manufacturing is guided by the image itself, which is formed instinctively. The work proposes a fraying of the scope of the work of art in what may or may not be figurative, from connections that pass through subjectivity to new decodings informed by problems inherent to the practice of painting. Truths are fixed fields in constant evolution and development. “Olho Nu” is the unveiling of intimacies - a state of delight with frankness. We are full of layers, personas and social performances. Time slices, hours occupied by attitudes consistent with the expectations of each field of life. In the midst of it all, we connect with each of them. A “non-center”, a being me in all things. Something in our core drives what we really are.
