Agrade Camíz
Observing the construction of Agrade Camíz is realizing the need to cross the walls of love and denunciation, subjectivity and memory. Leave behind an idyllic and bucolic suburb that never existed.
– Marcelo Campos, Your name is on judas or from suburban to suburban, 2021
A multimedia artist, she uses the aesthetics of popular Rio de Janeiro architecture in her work, developing pieces full of housing symbols. Through the representation of objects loaded with emotional memory, such as railings and other architectural elements, Agrade evokes issues related to sexuality, beauty and female oppression. As well as producing works in dimensions suitable for exhibition in galleries and museums, the artist has an expressive practice as a graffiti artist and muralist, taking her work into the city's public spaces.
