O artista faz uma alusão à Marielle Franco*. O retrato, fruto de pinceladas ágeis, largas e movimentadas, e a obra se impõem como uma reflexão sobre identidade e representação. Nesta obra, Martins retoma o uso dos espaços vazios no interior da pintura, estes emergem da textura e da coloração da tela, que fazem papel de mais uma cor entre as outras aplicadas pelo artista, sendo o mais explícito sinal da incompletude como fator ativo no seu pintar.

* Marielle Franco, foi uma socióloga, política, feminista e defensora dos direitos humanos brasileira, assassinada a tiros no dia 14 de março de 2018 junto de seu motorista, Anderson Pedro Mathias Gomes, na Região Central do Rio de Janeiro.
