A partir de imagens que entrelaçam histórias do universo da política e de representações da cultura visual contemporânea, o trabalho de Cantuária parte de invenções pictóricas acerca das lutas travadas por mulheres revolucionárias invisibilizadas ao redor do mundo. A obra “Edilene Mateus Porto” homenageia uma liderança da Liga dos Camponeses Pobres de Rondônia e Amazônia Ocidental e do Acampamento 10 de maio em Val Paraiso (211km de Porto Velho), assassinada junto ao seu marido no dia 13 de maio de 2016. O casal denunciava a grilagem de terras na região e costumavam cobrar os órgãos públicos sobre a regularização de terras e pelo fim da violência no campo. Entre 2015 e 2016, Rondônia destacou pela série de assassinatos no campo. Para se ter ideia de quão alto é o número, as mortes no Estado representavam 30% do total de assassinatos por conflito de terra no país.

[Based on images that intertwine stories from the universe of politics and representations of contemporary visual culture, Cantuária’s work is based on pictorial inventions about the fights waged by revolutionary women invisible around the world. The work "Edilene Mateus Porto" pays homage to a leader of the League of Poor Peasants of Rondonia and Western Amazonia and the May 10th Camp in Val Paraiso (211km from Porto Velho), murdered together with her husband on 13 May 2016. The couple denounced the land grabbing in the region and used to charge the public agencies for the regularization of lands and for the end of violence in the countryside. Between 2015 and 2016, Rondônia highlighted the series of murders in the countryside. To get an idea of how high the number is, the deaths in the state represented 30% of the total number of murders for land conflict in the country.]
