A obra retrata Leila Khaled, mulher combatente na luta contra a ocupação israelense no território da Palestina. Quando criança, ela, sua família e mais de 750 mil árabes palestinos foram desapropriados de sua terra e passaram a viver como refugiados no Líbano, motivo pelo qual Khaled organizou, na junta militar PFLP (Frente Popular para a Libertação da Palestina) – de base marxista-leninista –, ações de recuperação de seu território sequestrado. Como integrantes da Unidade de Comando “Che Guevara”, militantes realizavam sequestros de aviões para exigir a libertação de presos políticos, foi durante o sequestro realizado em 1969, em um voo da TWA, na rota Roma para Damasco, que Leila forçou o piloto a sobrevoar Haifa, sua cidade natal, para que ela pudesse olhar o local o qual ela não tinha mais permissão para visitar. A combatente passou por cirurgias no rosto para driblar seus algozes da sua identidade, em prol da antiga luta contra mais uma ferramenta do colonialismo europeu.

The work shows Leila Khaled, a female combatant in the fight against Israeli occupation in the territory of Palestine. As a child, she, her family and more than 750,000 Palestinian Arabs were evicted from their land and started to live as refugees in Lebanon, which is why Khaled organized, at the military group PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) - Marxist-Leninist roots -, actions to recover their kidnapped territory. As members of the “Che Guevara” Command Unit, militants carried out hijackings of airplanes to demand the release of political prisoners, it was during the hijacking carried out in 1969, on a TWA flight, on the Rome to Damascus route, that Leila forced the pilot to fly over Haifa, her hometown, so she could look at the place she was no longer allowed to visit. The combatant went to surgery on her face to avoid her tormentors of her identity, in favor of the old struggle against another tool of European colonialism.
