"Como fragmentos de sonhos nebulosos, a série 'No Longe' retrata a tentativa do artista de tecer uma rede de memórias a partir de relatos acumulados ao longo da vida, explorando as origens de sua família, oriundos de Santo Antônio de Pádua, no interior do Rio de Janeiro. Ao migrarem para a região central em busca de oportunidades, enfrentaram os desafios comuns a famílias humildes no Brasil. A série destaca as figuras dos avós, trabalhadores rurais que nunca superaram a saudade da terra que deixaram para trás. Utilizando xilogravuras talhadas a partir de fragmentos de memórias, a série aborda a ausência e cria um mosaico de recordações, misturando falsas e reais, formando um emaranhado de lembranças."
"Like fragments of hazy dreams, the series 'No Longe' portrays the artist's attempt to weave a network of memories from stories accumulated throughout his life, exploring the origins of his family, originally from Santo Antônio de Pádua, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro. When they migrated to the central region in search of opportunities, they faced the challenges common to humble families in Brazil. The series highlights the figures of their grandparents, rural workers who never got over missing the land they left behind. Using woodcuts carved from fragments of memories, the series addresses absence and creates a mosaic of memories, mixing fake and real, forming a tangle of memories."
