In 1969, as a guerrilla member of the ALN (Ação Libertadora Nacional), Maria Augusta Thomáz hijacked a Boeing airplane en route between Buenos Aires and Santiago. With a bomb in her lap and a gun pointed at the pilot's neck, she flew to Cuba, where she spent three years in revolutionary training. Maria Augusta disappeared in 1973, in the interior of Goiás, and was considered another victim of civil-military repression. On the posters of the national truth commission, some familiar faces: Helenira Resende, Oswaldão, Iara Iavelberg.
