In the exhibition “Histórias da água (Water stories)”, Celina Portella presents four situations in video and photography created in 2013 and 2014. Using fixed frames the artist shows portraits of Ana Costa, Fernanda Monteiro, Flavia Costa and Thiago Sancho performing incoherent actions that are sometimes redundant, sometimes contradictory.
The infinite water cycle is reproduced in the universe of ideas, precisely and repeatedly. Water is always present in the series of images, both as the protagonist and as a medium, or a symbol, in the infinite loops of the videos and at the moment the photo is taken. Always in motion, water contains, flows and cleanses.
